I often eat a delicious sausage with ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomatoes for lunch. Due to my chronic liver disease, a naturopath advised me to stop. Why?

I recommend avoiding industrialized and processed foods for patients with chronic liver disease. Such food harms the already damaged liver. The most appropriate diet for patients with chronic liver diseases is anti-inflammatory. I recommend adopting the balanced diet described in detail in the article in the attached link.

Sausage may be delicious, but it is usually one of the most processed foods. Ketchup and mayonnaise also sometimes undergo processing that impairs nutritional values. Although you did not mention that you drink Coca-Cola with the sausage (I guess), it is a considerable load of industrialized and processed foods unsuitable for chronic liver disease patients. It is a highly inflammatory food that can cause cumulative health damage.
