I have a 50-year-old CKD patient after kidney surgery. I read that I am advised to eat internal organs such as kidneys and liver.

The American Indians believed eating a healthy animal organ would strengthen the same damaged organ. This belief has a logical basis because eating an organ that is the same as the damaged one provides the body with the nutrients and proteins necessary to renew the organ. It should be emphasized that this is not a panacea. In principle, for patients with kidney disease, it is recommended to reduce to a minimum consumption of meat and dairy products that are very acidic, difficult to digest, and a burden on the liver and kidneys.
