I am 40 years old and suffer from a very fatty liver. The doctor told me that the damaged liver causes obesity and vice versa. I did not understand the explanation.

Your doctor was right. This is not a very simple explanation. I will try to simplify it as much as possible. Improper nutrition causes overload and damage to the liver. The decreased liver function reduces the body's ability to regenerate cells and the efficiency of the food you eat. When less food builds damaged cells and tissues, more energy is used immediately and stored as fat. The injured liver tends to become clogged, resulting in bloating. Liver damage creates an increased tendency for abdominal fat to accumulate.
