I am a 45-year-old IBD patient, and my toenails are covered in fungus. I Have been offered metronidazole drug therapy.

The drug treatment for fungi is not recommended as it is very toxic to the liver. (IBD patients must avoid anti-fungal drug treatment.) The therapy must be based on an anti-inflammatory diet, emphasizing balancing and strengthening the intestinal flora.
