I went to a computerized nutritional counselor and was given a detailed list of foods and beverages allowed and forbidden to eat. Is the method correct and recommended for chronic liver patients?

The method's main disadvantage is that it does not teach the person the principles of proper nutrition. As I understand it, there were many inaccuracies in the recommendations I received. I would rather teach simple and easy-to-apply principles than give lists. It is worth emphasizing that the right combinations of foods and eating habits are essential, so it is vital to understand how the digestive system works optimally. (As the ancient Chinese proverb says - it is better to teach how to fish than to bring ready-made fish.)

Patients with chronic liver disease need a very meticulous and easily digestible diet. I recommend the balanced diet described in detail in the attached link.
