Is the use of artificial sweeteners not recommended for IBD patients?

Artificial sweeteners are not recommended for patients with chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Although they do not contain calories, artificial sweeteners are inflammatory to the body.

Non-natural substances are perceived by the body as "external invaders" and are broken down by the liver, forced to work hard in the modern diet. Artificial sweeteners are calorie-free but a lousy alternative because a healthy weight over time is associated with good health! Always prefer natural sweeteners: honey, date honey, carob powder, maple extract, stevia concentrate, etc.
