Vegans have a better quality of life. They suffer much less from chronic disease. Surprisingly, the life expectancy of vegans and vegetarians is about the same as that of the rest of the population. (There are conflicting data regarding the life expectancy of vegans). (Suggested the lack of vitamin B12 and Omega 3 fatty acids found mainly in animal products.) In the animal world, omnivores have a higher lifespan than vegetarian animals. Still, one should be careful about such comparisons.
We consume animal products from animals raised with chemicals, antibiotics, and hormones, which cause many side effects. The big question is: Will it change the answer if we improve the quality of the animal products we eat, combined with a much smaller consumption? Can good quality and organic pasture animal products improve our health even more than vegans'?
Research findings from recent years point to a particular advantage in combining animal nutrition. Still, the main questions are the food quality the animal received, the growing conditions, and the dosage. The Western diet is too rich in meat and poultry. Today's fish is an agricultural product grown under conditions that are not always suitable.
