Why are antiparasitic drugs from the Metronidazole group unable to cure Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis?

Antiparasitic drugs from the metronidazole group (in different versions and names) effectively eliminate parasites, but they do not treat the causes of the disease. As long as the gut is too acidic, the parasites that always exist in the gastrointestinal tract return to thriving. In addition, metronidazole is highly toxic to the liver and causes significant damage to the patient over time. To recover from chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, it is imperative to rehabilitate the intestinal flora by natural means.
