The food the animal we eat receives has a critical meaning, except that this is a figure we usually do not know.

Most animal products, including fish, are industrialized and sometimes processed. Except for organic food for which there is (particular) supervision, we have no information about the quality of the food and the treatment the animal received. When the animal gets a diet that is not natural for it, hormones, antibiotics, and industrialized food designed for rapid weight gain, the quality of the food we eat drops dramatically. A steak from a grass-fed cow is better than industrialized chicken meat. (just for demonstration)
