Are there any tests that answer whether I went through the point of no return where the liver continues to deteriorate?

Since the liver has no pain sensing, it is difficult to know the patient's liver condition, but only indirectly. In cirrhotic patients at various stages, the answer is almost certainly that the liver can no longer spontaneously renew itself. The answer is usually not unequivocal in milder patients, although assessments can be performed based on blood tests, MRI, CT, etc. If the symptoms of the disease worsen over a long period, the liver condition probably continues to deteriorate. It is important to note that there are ups and downs even in liver rehabilitation, but the trend line is clear.
