Discussion: One of the most intriguing questions is why superior aliens would be interested in Earth, its habitants, and humans.

Encounters between humans and extraterrestrials have occurred regularly throughout history. Humans worshipped them and saw aliens as idols.

If you ignore the movies, then the planet has no more valuable resource than the genetic load of its inhabitants. The elements on Earth are also found elsewhere, so the thought of precious minerals or humans as alien food is appropriate for science fiction horror movies. Aliens would like to improve themselves through knowledge from all life forms found on Earth and various species' vast genetic and behavioral information, especially humans on Earth.

Curiosity is a property of entropy (disorder) that exists in every living being. Aliens have a much more developed curiosity than we do because they live in a much more advanced reality on an entirely different scale.
