Is Chinese food healthier than Western food?

Until a few decades ago, authentic Chinese food was based on various vegetables, fruits, herbs, and roots. Almost no dairy and relatively little meat. Chinese cuisine does not serve dessert dishes. Consumption of white flour and sugar products is still significantly lower than in the West. At the same time, China became a huge food producer, forcing it to produce industrialized and processed food. Within 40 years, since the 1980s, China has become a country with chronic morbidity of type 2 diabetes similar to those in the West. Rice, the main carbohydrate in China, has never been a source of chronic disease.
