Discussion: Is modern society crueler, in the sense of physical help, towards the weak and the sick?

People in the modern world have no leisure - they have no time for themselves, let alone others! They are willing to donate money to feel a clear conscience, but you will hardly find physical help in an urban environment. (Of course, there are exceptions, but they are few.)
