Are there invasive ways to cleanse the liver of biliary stones?

It is possible to catheterize the liver, but it is a relatively complex operation, unlike cardiac catheterization, which is performed through the arteries in sterile blood vessels. The liver is not sterile, and the risk of liver infection is dangerous. Catheterization of the liver is often also limited in terms of the size of gallstones that can be removed without significant damage.
