I am a 60-year-old man with fibromyalgia for almost 20 years. We recently moved into a house with a great jacuzzi. Why does most of the pain disappear when I sit in hot water?

I highly recommend combining sitting in the jacuzzi and (if available) sitting in the steam sauna. (According to the safety guidelines) Sitting in a hot tub is very relaxing. The hot water jets create a gentle lymphatic massage, and if you direct the water jets toward the kidneys, a gentle but very intense kidney massage can be produced. I doubt you will be able to recover from long-term fibromyalgia just by sitting in a hot tub jacuzzi, but there is no doubt that it is an effective therapeutic tool. In practice, you cleanse your kidneys and calm your mind. Immersion of your feet in very hot water (caution from burns) just before bedtime may make you achieve continuous and better sleep.
