Unlike you (from what I have read), I cannot disobey the instructions of my attending cardiologist.

I do not recommend anyone not to follow the instructions of their attending physician. (In my case of cirrhosis of the liver, the treatment I was offered was not effective) I recommend that every patient, including heart patients, examine whether all their medications are essential. (Considering also the fact that doctors are all encouraged by the drug companies) Excessive drug use has become an epidemic in itself!

Cardiac catheterization and bypass surgery are often emergencies to prevent further patient deterioration. Improper blood flow to the coronary arteries may cause irreversible damage to the heart muscle, putting the patient's life at risk. Supportive drug treatment to prevent coagulation and lower blood pressure and cholesterol for the recovery period, lasting several months, is a necessary evil! The problem is that many heart patients continue the drug treatment without significant changes in the dose, even though the next step after an invasive emergency is to restore the heart and the entire immune system. An anti-inflammatory diet, regular and moderate physical activity, and a relaxed lifestyle are critical to the patient's recovery process. Doctors often briefly explain the right things to the patient, but in the same breath, most often continue the destructive drug treatment! Cardiac rehabilitation centers do exist, but they are not holistic. No wonder chronic heart patients are among the top drug takers.
