Severe economic crises (such as the one the world is experiencing during the COVID-19 crisis) significantly increase the incidence of chronic kidney disease. The kidneys, at the energetic level, are susceptible to existential crises.
Chronic kidney disease is a widespread phenomenon affecting approximately 750 million people worldwide. (2016 data) About 15% of the adult population suffers from chronic kidney disease, with an upward trend. Women have an increased tendency (compared to men) to get Chronic Kidney Disease. The prevalence of chronic kidney disease increases with age, but it can also start at very young ages. From the age of 65 and over, chronic kidney disease incidence increases to about 25% in women and 20% in men.
