Inflammation vs. Infection. (Often confused.)

In chronic digestive tract diseases, there is often an imbalance in the intestinal flora. (pathogenic infection) that creates an inflammatory reaction, which is also the source of pain.

Infection is the result of pathogens thriving (Bacteria, viruses, parasites). Inflammation is the immune system's reaction to the destruction of cells in our body. Of course, the definition of inflammation is much broader than that of infection, which usually produces an inflammatory response.

"Inflammation - is a short or continuous immune response caused by temporary or permanent cell damage (above a certain threshold)" intended to rehabilitate the damaged tissue."
