Why are the bellies of patients with chronic liver disease swollen, and they look fat?

When clogged, the liver swells to absorb the toxins formed regularly. Bile is crystallized, and it loses its elasticity. To allow blood to flow within the impaired liver, the liver swells! When the patient recovers from chronic liver disease (a particularly challenging task), the abdomen contracts back, and the patient appears thinner.
