What is the recommended diet after a cardiac event and catheterization?

Patients after catheterization are very likely to receive advice from certified dietitians, but it is essential to know that there is no consensus in the nutrition sciences. The most appropriate diet is an anti-inflammatory diet. The most significant part of the diet is avoiding processed and industrialized foods altogether. Various dairy products are not recommended. Goat milk and yogurt can be consumed in small amounts.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no problem-consuming natural fats and oils (in reasonable amounts but not in meat and dairy products). Dietary fiber and naturally fermented foods (such as yogurt) are vital. Soft drinks of all kinds, including diet drinks, are not recommended. Meat and poultry are challenging to digest and are highly inflammatory. Fish should be preferred, preferably in deep water.
