Is prostitution a phenomenon that should be legal?

In many places, prostitution is illegal, but enforcement against it is marginal, often in the context of organized crime and sponsorship fees. Whether prostitutes themselves engage in prostitution of their own free will is not uniform; there are many places worldwide still in the 21st century where there is trafficking in women for prostitution. Religious entities often support anti-prostitution laws, while liberal circles support institutionalized prostitution. Prostitution has existed since biblical times. The need for prostitution has not changed. The way the relationships have been made has shifted to digital media, where enforcement is also more problematic. Since enforcing anti-prostitution laws is ineffective (sometimes intentionally), in my view, prostitutes have equal rights, even if they do not choose prostitution as a career. The main question is what budgets are allocated to security against the abuse of prostitutes, appropriate medical care, and pension conditions in old age.
