Sex and love have a deep, energetic meaning that often manifests as the couple matures. (The energy of life drops sharply from 45 to 50.) I believe envy (at a reasonable level) is essential for preserving the relationship, so it is not redundant! Open sex impairs the emotional bond between the couple in the long run.
