Discussion: Hepatic encephalopathy in cancer patients.

In a situation of hepatic encephalopathy, it is recommended not to drive, particularly at night. Vision is impaired, especially night vision, which requires sharper senses. The burden on the liver of cancer patients is usually significantly high. Weak liver functions often cause toxins to penetrate the brain (primarily ammonia). The symptoms are related to decreased cognitive abilities, weak memory, and reduced vision and hearing. Chinese traditional medicine connects the liver and the kidneys. According to Chinese traditional medicine, the liver is reflected in the eyes and the kidneys in the ears. Cancer patients may suffer from both.
