What is the common explanation for very yellow and stained teeth among non-smokers?

Cancer patients' liver (kidneys and the entire physiological system) is under a significant load of treatments and drugs. Most often, yellow and stained teeth indicate an injured liver. The liver is known to have no pain sensation! The yellow spots are formed from an increased accumulation of bilirubin. (Similar to jaundice on the skin that usually appears only in advanced stages of chronic liver disease.)
