Antifungal and antiparasitic drugs (such as metronidazole) are in widespread use among chronic prostatitis patients.

Treating drugs from the metronidazole family (a large group of drugs under different names) for prolonged periods is forbidden, as it is very toxic to the liver. Without proper liver function, there is insufficient bile fluid production to lubricate the gut. Over time, the treatment is more harmful than beneficial!
