There are two leading methods to diagnose chronic Prostatitis and Epididymitis infectious pathogens. (Both tests do not cover all possible diversity.)

1 Culture of prostate fluid and seminal fluid. (Not very common.)
2 Blood and urine tests to identify different pathogenic antibodies. Since there are many possible pathogens, you may not cover the whole range.

Neither method fully covers all possible pathogens. Because it is moist and contains nutrients, the prostate is fertile ground for developing pathogens like bacteria, parasites, and viruses. The tests usually test only the most common pathogens. When there is no finding of a bacterial infection, the diagnosis is non-bacterial chronic prostatitis. The diagnosis often confuses patients, who believe it is a mental rather than a physical condition!
