Most medications for chronic prostatitis patients are harmful for prolonged use.

Patients with chronic prostatitis usually take antibiotics, antiparasitic drugs (such as metronidazole), and receptor blockers (sometimes also corticosteroids) in high doses for extended periods, with no real benefit. The explanation is that the immune system is too weak to subdue the pathogens! The leading cause of the disease is the weakness of the immune system. The bacteria, parasites, and viruses are just the trigger for the disease.

Medications for chronic prostatitis and epididymitis are only meant to relieve the symptoms. They cannot cure the disease, as they are not designed to treat its causes, the immune system's weakness. Medications have side effects and lasting damage, but most of us fear disobeying the doctor's instructions and thus perpetuating the disease!
