Do educational and income gaps between spouses pose a threat to the relationship?

Significant income gaps between couples are usually related to occupations, education, and the amount of time invested in work. The threat does not come from the high income of one spouse, but from the devaluation, it creates toward the other spouse, who may be perceived as inferior. If the relationship is good, the gaps should have no effect, but when communication is faulty, the gap creates another reason for crises.
