How is a prostate fluid culture performed, and by whom?

A prostate fluid culture is a laboratory test of the prostate fluid to identify known pathogens, placed in an incubator for about 48 hours. After that, different bacteria or pathogens can be detected under a microscope. (Viruses cannot be seen.) The prostate fluid is sucked by pressing on the prostate; when the patient kneels, the doctor (usually a urologist) inserts a finger into the anus and presses firmly until the fluid comes out. This is a painful operation for the patient and unpleasant for the doctor, so you will find it is not widespread.
