Receptor blockers are designed to relieve symptoms and cannot cure chronic diseases. Many men (especially adults) take alpha-blockers to mitigate the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (BPH). The drug relaxes muscles (vital), and over time, the patient becomes dependent on the medicine that does not cure the disease but perpetuates it.
