For food and eating addicts, I recommend starting the mental-energetic withdrawal stages before the diet phase, which is surprising! The easy part after the weaning step succeeds.

The ketogenic diet mimics starvation with a minimal intake of carbohydrates. Substitutes are primarily proteins and fats, most of which are from animals. In the first months, the body changes its metabolism to the consumption of ketones (hence the name of the diet) as a substitute for the energy provided by carbohydrates. Still, the ketogenic diet is not suitable for long periods. (I listed the explanations in a separate post) No carbs; it is hard to feel full, and the volume of food seems meager compared to a diet with carbs. Increased protein intake puts much strain on the liver and kidneys and is therefore not recommended in the long run. The attached link recommends a balanced diet that is not low in calories.
