Falling in love is a hormonal (temporary) phenomenon of sexual attraction. Love is an energetic phenomenon of emotional synchronization. Much has been written about the differences between love and infatuation. I want to suggest the energetic angle that clearly distinguishes the two.
Falling in love is a chemical phenomenon based primarily on releasing pheromones. Its immediate goal is to ensure the creation of the next generation. However, this chemical phenomenon is limited to a few years.
Love is an energetic phenomenon of emotional synchronization. Love (as opposed to falling in love) is not a transient phenomenon. It often also lasts a lifetime. Couples who live in love are also couples who survive happily ever after. The perfect combination, of course, is couples who have a deep love between them and go through the stage of falling in love. But the mixture is not trivial.
