There are probably several explanations for the phenomenon. At the same time, people have little leisure time, and instead of following a careful, natural, balanced, varied diet, they prefer to take various supplements. Their (erroneous) premise is that supplements cannot be harmful.
Nutritional supplements also have the unique property of quieting the conscience. Instead of leading a healthy lifestyle and diet, I will take various supplements and gain good health without much effort. The problem is that it doesn't work well.
