Is modern medicine capable of curing a chronic (non-hereditary) disease or any addiction?

Surprisingly, modern medicine has impressive achievements, except that they are all at the technological level, where there has indeed been tremendous progress. Modern medicine fails to completely cure chronic inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, cancer, addictions, and mental illness. The explanation for this is quite simple, modern medicine does not treat the causes of the illnesses, but only their symptoms. No progress will be achieved without a statistical cracking of a very complex set of causes of illness of the body and mind. Medicines cannot heal on their own! Healing comes from the body and mind altogether.
