Tattoos are a very subjective fashion thing; some people like them, and some think it violates the body's integrity. From a health point of view, the main danger in tattoos is the pigments that usually contain heavy metals and other toxic substances. The field of tattoos is not under any supervision, so it is tough to know which pigments are being used. The problem is even worse for those who remove the tattoos with a laser because it releases the pigments from the subcutaneous tissue into the bloodstream and vital organs. If you do a small tattoo, the risk is relatively low; a large tattoo, especially one you may remove in the future, is not recommended for patients with heart disease.
