Female hair, throughout history, has been the focus of male attention. Abundant, shiny, and well-groomed hair (although not necessarily very long) is perceived as transmitting health and fertility and carries evolutionary benefits. Mature women often prefer shorter hair as haircare requires a lot of attention.
