My father suffered from prostate cancer for years but died from complications of chronic lung disease rather than cancer. (At the age of 84.5.)

My father refused to remove the prostate gland surgically. In retrospect, he was probably also correct. His prostate cancer was asymptomatic, and he did not take drugs for prostate cancer. Cancer at a late age (75 and older) is worrying, but it is usually very slow in development. It does not necessarily require aggressive invasive treatment, as is customary for relatively younger people. Looking closely, you will find that cancer at a later age is much less violent than cancer in young people, even though it is ostensibly the same disease!

Link: Cancer causes emphasize its two interconnected trajectories.
Cancer manifests as the "Energetic Suffocation" of confined cells that isolate themselves from the healthy surrounding tissue in self-defense.
