Inflammation vs. Infection. (Often confused.)

Theoretical issues regarding cancer patients.

Infection is the result of pathogens thriving. (Bacteria, viruses, parasites) Inflammation is the immune system's reaction to the destruction of cells in our body. Of course, the definition of inflammation is much broader than infection, which usually produces an inflammatory response.
