Inflammation vs. Infection. (Relevant to migraine patients)

Migraines are a clear example of inflammation that does not involve a pathogenic infection in the place where the pain is felt. Infection is the result of pathogens thriving. (Bacteria, viruses, parasites) Inflammation is the immune system's reaction to the destruction of cells in our body. The definition of inflammation is, of course, much broader than that of infection, which usually produces an inflammatory response.
