Smoking and consuming processed and industrialized foods (more typical among people from low socioeconomic status) are extremely harmful.

Smoking and increased stress, lack of leisure, and nutrition of prepared and processed foods were far more harmful than smoking 50 years ago! Then, the diet mainly focused on home cooking. Combining industrialized foods that are highly inflammatory to our bodies and smoking is an almost sure recipe for chronic diseases. COPD patients who smoke must try to switch to a healthy diet. Investing in quality food is better than spending on drugs and doctors, not to mention terrible suffering!
