Practical issues regarding treatments in diabetes patients, who suffer from open and infected wounds.

An effective treatment that may save people with diabetes is pressure chamber therapy (a rather expensive treatment), and medical leeches can also save limbs from amputation!

The appropriate antibiotic selection is sometimes made by trial and error based on experience with other patients. People with diabetes should be careful when taking prolonged antibiotic treatment because it damages the intestinal flora and weakens the immune system. People with diabetes are better off using herbal substitutes like oregano oil.

There are 14 groups of antibiotics designed to kill bacteria of different types. Their action mechanism is slightly different (some act on the bacterial wall and other internal mechanisms). Their resistance is diverse, except that none cures chronic infectious or inflammatory diseases.
