Fear effect - Why Patients with chronic diseases that are considered incurable (such as cancer) are often afraid of self-healing functional medicine treatments?

The fear effect exists in most patients with severe illnesses or those perceived as incurable. (Including me at the time) The explanation is related to our perception that modern medicine is omnipotent. The doctor knows everything and often delegitimizes and warns not to try different treatment methods. The stage of disillusionment and the search for alternatives usually comes only after failures in treating conventional medical techniques. Cancer treatment ignores the mental-energetic side of the disease.
