Is there a pronounced phenomenon of sending the elderly to idle tests?

Older adults are often not very busy and frequently visit doctors. Doctors can justify (sometimes costly) tests because older people have many complications. The elderly are occasionally afraid to refuse and harass themselves (and their families) for unnecessary idle checks that only feed the system, often for economic reasons.
