According to the World Health Organization, alcohol use disorder is one of the leading causes of death among young people aged 20-39. Although the World Health Organization does not address alcoholic liver disease, it is widespread with broad social, health, and economic impacts. Alcohol is one of the most harmful substances to the liver. Increased alcohol consumption can cause severe liver damage within a few years.
