Discussion: Until autonomous cars go into full use, it is requested for the benefit of public safety that car manufacturers incorporate alcohol vapor detectors and drugs built into the vehicle.

Serious car accidents by drunk drivers, especially during the holidays, are a worldwide phenomenon. Vehicles will drive themselves in a few years, even without a driver. Meanwhile, an alcohol detector and light drug vapor would have been required. (Detectable) Car manufacturers have no incentive to put such systems in vehicles. It is in the interest of the governments and insurance companies to save human lives and vast sums of money. Therefore, it is worthwhile for them to subsidize such safety systems. Drivers caught driving while intoxicated will be required to drive a vehicle with a built-in alcohol detector. Politicians should wake up, think about human life, and promote legislation.
