The sharp increase in the number of prescriptions for medications per capita (in the United States) is worrying and requires further thought.

From 2016 to 2020, the number of prescriptions in the United States increased by 11.8% (4.07 B to 4.55 B ), even though the volume of growth in the population was barely 2%.

This is a worldwide phenomenon that only worsened during the coronavirus crisis. Is anyone bothered by the disturbing mega? The effects of the overuse of drugs have become almost routine. The death rate (which is very high anyway) due to drug overuse is sharply downward.
