Women have improved liver protection through the female hormone estrogen, which improves liver survival, even against viral liver diseases. Therefore, women have, on average, less liver disease, of course, considering that women, on average, also drink less, and the proportion of women who are alcoholic is lower than men. (but gradually increasing)
