If psychological therapies fail to penetrate the subconscious and cure addictions, they are useless in curing COPD patients caused by smoking.

Most routine psychological therapies (which do not treat hypnosis) usually cannot penetrate the subconscious mind and locate unresolved traumatic events. But most of us have tough life struggles, crises, and a natural need to share. Psychology has a calming dimension of participating, strengthening choices, and preventing mental deterioration. (Usually, addictions can not be recovered through conversations with psychologists.)
