Medicine is not an exact science! When there is doubt, asking for other opinions without feeling uncomfortable is desirable and permissible.

The idea that the doctor "knows everything" is embedded in certain cultures. In modern reality - the doctor does not know everything and sometimes does not have solutions for complex situations. When in doubt, seek further medical advice.

People with severe health conditions or those suffering from severe chronic pain are willing to try any possible treatment. Quite a few clinics take advantage of the situation for unnecessary, expensive, and sometimes even harmful treatments. (As happened in my case) You must understand the logic of the treatment and whether it is designed to treat the symptoms or the causes of the disease.
