I understand your concerns; they are indeed justified. In the first step, I recommend you adopt the "Chinese method" to reduce smoking sharply. According to the method, you are only allowed to smoke if you drink natural squeezed juice daily and smoke only after meals; allow another cigarette in the evening. This is not a complete cessation of smoking but a sharp drop to about 10-12 cigarettes per day. This is not a full detox, but it is better than nothing.
